WORK HOURS: 7.5/day

DUTIES: The Victim Advocate I provides comprehensive, culturally specific, and trauma-informed support to victims of crime under close supervision. This role is grounded in the principles of victim-defined advocacy, empowering victims and survivors to determine their own path to healing and justice. The advocate serves as a guide and liaison assisting victims in making informed decisions and navigating complex legal and social service systems, connecting victims to resources, and ensuring victim voices and rights are upheld throughout their journey.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent. Experience working with Alaska Native populations preferred. Strong crisis intervention, communication (oral and written), and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with integrity and professionalism. Emotional resilience, stability, and a commitment to self-care practices to prevent vicarious trauma and burnout. Possession of a current driver’s license and access to reliable transportation. Ability to pass a criminal background check. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
