Emergency Assistance
Emergency Assistance provides a one-time payment for repairs or essential living needs for households who have suffered weather-related or other unavoidable events (such as fire, flood, or earthquake) that caused damage to their home and loss or damage to personal possessions and provide photo documentation as proof. This service has tribal enrollment and residency eligibility requirements.
Eligibility Requirements
Tribal Enrollment
At least household member must be enrolled in any federally recognized tribe, as documented by a tribal card, enrollment letter, or Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB).
Residency List (Service Area)
The household must reside in one of the following communities: Akutan, Atka, False Pass, King Cove, Nelson Lagoon, Nikolski, Sand Point, St. George, St. Paul, or Unalaska.
Documentation
The following documentation is needed to provide Emergency Assistance services:
- Completed application
- Tribal enrollment card, enrollment letter, or CIB
- Proof of residency
- Documentation of household damage (usual provided as photos)
- Requested repairs or essential needs for the payment to be put towards
