Child Care Assistance
Assistance for parents or guardians of a child who is tribally enrolled or eligible to be tribally enrolled in a federally recognized American Indian/Alaska Native tribe and are actively seeking employment, working, going to school, or who are in training at a minimum of 25 hours per week with child care costs.
This assistance is also utilized for APIA approved providers with service needs such as training, education and safety equipment.
Eligibility Requirements
Parents/Guardians must meet low-income guidelines. We also serve interested persons in becoming licensed or non-licensed family-member providers through training and education, regardless of income. Children can be birth though age 13, OR up to age 19 if there are qualifying special needs.
Communities/Tribes Served
Provide a tribal card documenting membership in a federally recognized American Indian/Alaska Native tribe AND be living in Akutan, Atka, Belkofski, False Pass, Nikolski, Nelson Lagoon, St. George, or Sand Point communities; OR
Provide tribal membership documentation as an enrolled tribal member of Akutan, Atka, Belkofski, False Pass, Nikolski, Nelson Lagoon, Pauloff Harbor, St. George, Qawalangin, and Unga and proof of temporarily residing in the Municipality of Anchorage area because of enrollment in a training or education program or a temporary job situation.
