Regional Elder Discussion Committee
The Elder Program is currently facilitating and coordinating the Regional Elder Discussion Committee. This committee was vital in supporting the efforts of the 2016 Tribal Eldercare Services Summit and will continue to meet and is a critical component in:
- Sharing progress in the development of Eldercare services
- Sharing of Best Practices across communities
- Engaging communities
- Inspiring creativity and innovation in solutions
- Advocating on behalf of Elders
- Identifying needed resources
- Fostering partnerships among stakeholders

Ashley Withrow, Elder Program Coordinator
Ashley Withrow is a life-long Alaskan born and raised in Anchorage, with family originating in Nome, Alaska. Ashley is in the final stages of completeing her Bachelors of Science degree in Health Science with a psychology minor and has the intent to pursue a Master’s Degree in Public Health. She currently holds both an Associate of Arts degree and an Occupational Endorsement Certificate as a Direct Service Specialist. Ashley has worked in the Eldercare for 4 years and has a passion for the Gerontology field in a community health setting. In her spare time Ashley enjoys the outdoor life of fishing, hunting, berry picking and hiking with her husband, two sons and two dogs and attending and contributing to local community events.
