WORK HOURS:  Part-Time

Job Summary: This position will plan and execute the daily operations associated with the APIA Elder Meal Service Program. This will include cooking lunch for the Elders three times a week, facilitating during the meal, and cleanup of the kitchen and dining facilities during and after each meal. Duties will also include record keeping regarding everyday meal operations and Elder’s records. This position will also need to coordinate with APIA’s Anchorage office and regional food suppliers for any shipments made to the meal site in the way of food or equipment. Will be responsible for maintaining a food safe environment throughout the duration of meal service operations. 

Qualifications: Experience in food service preferred. Experience cooking large meals and at least entry level knowledge and appreciation for general food safety guidelines. Ability to work independently with little to no oversight during daily operations. Willing to take training and attend workshops and meetings periodically to enhance job performance and knowledge. Ability to maintain respectful communication with Elders, co-workers, volunteers, and other patrons at all times, especially under stressful circumstances.
