Self-Governance Program Assistant
Full-time (37.5 hours per week) Rate of Pay: DOE + Education   Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Duties: Performs standard and routine program support duties for the DOJ an SG programs.  Ensures compliance with reporting requirements and also assists in publication and web-page development and maintenance.  Support the overall implementation of the DOJ grant.  Prepare documents, reports, and other materials, including meeting agendas, minutes and sign in sheets.  Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting procedures.  Maintain the DOJ Grant Binder.  Gain knowledge and experience in SG operations.  Serve as acting SG Coordinator when SG Coordinator is unavailable.  Assistance in maintaining SG Compact MOA files.

Qualifications: Preferred: Two years of experience working with human service programs, local governments, Native non-profit corporations or related agencies in the areas of program coordination, management or planning.  Two years advanced computer experience with background in publications, statistical management, word-processing and web-sites.

Minimum:  High School Graduate or equivalent.  Experience in a Social/Human Services agency and/or Tribal organization.  Consideration will be given to applicant with extensive work experience and in the process of obtaining an AA in required field of study.

Applicant must:  Able to interact with individuals from various backgrounds, particularly Alaska Native clients.  Familiar with tribal governments, ANCSA, the Indian Self-Determination Act, and with State and Federal funding sources is desirable. Willing to attend training workshops periodically. Willing and able to travel to the Aleutian Pribilof Islands regional communities when requested.  Possession of a valid Alaska Driver’s License.
