WORK HOURS: 7.5 hours per day
Job Summary: Provides medical assistant level support to the Case Manager/CHA II in our COVID response and vaccination efforts. Provides practitioner support for testing, vaccinations and scheduling for COVID patients. Assists Case Manager/CHA II in coordinating efforts with local agencies and taskforce. Files patient data in electronic health record and the state of Alaska vac Trak. Provides back up to the clinic including but not limited to: reception, registration/scheduling, pickup and delivery, and patient transport. This position will also provide direct support and backup in other clerical duties of our COVID response and vaccine delivery. This may include: receiving and delivering supplies, materials and equipment from freight and postal companies. It also may include patient transport. This position is full time, 37.5 hours per week, from 8:00 to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, however may include some nights and weekends for pickup, delivery, and safe patient transports. Valid driver’s license required. This position serves all sites, including: Unalaska, Atka, Nikolski, and St. George.
Qualifications: Must be a high school graduate with a minimum of 2 years applicable experience working with a diverse population. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must have the ability to work with confidential material, preferably in the medical or mental health field. Must have strong secretarial, communication, organizational, and word processing skills and data entry experience. Must have the ability to work in a team atmosphere, have excellent communication skills with a mature professional work philosophy. Willing to take training, attend workshops, and meetings to enhance job performance and knowledge. Must have or be able to willing to obtain and MA certificate within a reasonable timeframe established at time of hire. Alaska Native preference to qualified applicant.
