JOB TITLE: Risk Management/Compliance Officer

 

LOCATION: Anchorage, Alaska

SALARY: Depending on Experience

 

WORK HOURS: 7.5 hrs/day

 

DUTIES: Oversees risk management and compliance primarily for the health department. Assists other departments in processing interagency client information requests. Coordinate the agency-wide Safety Oversight Committee, and assist the committee in implementing safety plans. Assist with policy development and maintenance for risk management, compliance, and safety matters. Ensure release of records are properly reviewed, consult with legal, and release records as needed. Assist with monitoring social media comments for constructive feedback. Monitor departments in ensuring timely compliance with grant reporting requirements. Lead internal and external staff and client/patient/customer satisfaction data collection and reporting. Assist with reporting to the board on risk management, compliance, and safety topics. Support workflow improvements to enhance patient/client/customer care to strengthen their experience working with the association. Ensures compliance and regular training in Joint Commission and HRSA program requirements as applicable to operations in both clinical and administrative settings.  Keeps all Risk Management and compliance policies and procedures up to date.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor Degree in the field of healthcare with at least five years of experience in compliance and risk assessment. Experience in the medical field and knowledge of medical terms desired. Must demonstrate ability to carry out project goals and objectives. Preferred experience with HRSA and Joint Commission standards. Must have strong organizational skills. Must demonstrate the ability to present oral and compose written reports in a cohesive format. Must demonstrate strong human relations skills at an executive level including communications with external agencies. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must demonstrate interest and knowledge of Alaska Native/Native American lifestyles and rural health care delivery. Willingness and ability to travel on small planes and have a valid Alaska driver’s license. Willing to take training and attend workshops and meetings periodically to enhance job performance and knowledge. Native preference.
