Dept. of Family & Community Development Executive Assistant I

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Reports to: Department of Family & Community Development Director – Anchorage

Work Schedule: Full Time – 37.5 hrs per week

Job Summary:

Provide direct administrative support to the DFCD Director and the Department overall in the disbursement of information flow and communication within and outside of APIA DFCD Department. Perform Human Resource (HR) duties in coordination with the APIA Human Resources Director. Assist with maintaining, monitoring and updating record keeping for department’s contract agreements, leases, grants and other



Must be a high school graduate or equivalent; Associates Degree preferred. Must have a stable job history with at least five years of experience, preferable, at an
executive office level to include: project, grants, contract management, report writing and/or human resource duties. Must have excellent oral and written communication
skills and ability to use those skills interpersonally. Must have strong clerical skills and excellent organizational skills. Exceptional ability to write professional correspondence and documentation. Knowledge of federal and state grant
procedures and ability to read and understand budgets required. Have strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft programs focusing on Word Processing, Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint and Excel. Must
demonstrate an ability to carry out project goals and objectives. Must have strong organizational skills. Must demonstrate strong human relations skills at an executive level including communications with external agencies. Must
demonstrate interest and knowledge of Alaska Native/Native American lifestyles and rural delivery. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrate dependability, maturity, good judgment in
performance of duties and the ability to be a team player. Willing to train and attend workshops and meetings periodically to enhance job performance and knowledge. Pass criminal history background/fingerprint clearance. Valid Alaska
driver’s license.
