Job Summary: This position provides administrative support and front desk duties to the Oonalaska Wellness Center Primary Care and support to the Behavioral Health staff. Duties involves coordinating patient scheduling. This position encompasses routine and specialized office duties working closely with a diverse client base of IHS beneficiaries and non-beneficiary members. Need strong secretarial, communication, organizational, and word processing skills. Must be able to maintain confidentiality in all matters. Responsible for overseeing Oonalaska Wellness Clinic Behavioral Health office, clerical duties, lead outreach and enrollment activities, and coordinate clinic activities. Support the clinic provider(s) through reception duties and general overseeing maintenance needs such as ensuring proper operational function of the clinic including submitting supply requests, maintenance, etc. Under general direction, establishes and strengthens relationships with all APIA member communities, Tribal councils and stakeholders. Maintains positive tribal relations that positively impact APIA Health program. Special emphasis on communicating and maintaining key relationships in ensuring the success of Key APIA Initiatives including but not limited to Facilities Replacement, Eldercare Development and Care Coordination.
Qualifications: Must be a high school graduate with a minimum of 3 years applicable experience working with a diverse population. Must have the ability to work with confidential material, preferably in the medical or mental health field. Must have strong secretarial, communication, organizational, and word processing skills. Must have the ability to work in a team atmosphere, have excellent communication skills with a mature professional work philosophy. Must be willing to and have the means to travel and have a valid Alaska Driver’s License. Willing to take training, attend workshops, and meetings to enhance job performance and knowledge.
