WORK HOURS: 7.5 hours per day


Job Summary: This Registered Nurse will provide integrated nursing functions for our Primary Care and Behavioral Health Teams. Must provide patient-centered care; promoting whole health and wellness supporting APIA’s mission and vision. The nurse will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team that include the clients, patients, families, primary care and behavioral health providers, pharmacists, and all other support staff to provide high quality care.  Will advocate and support the case management process, matching each of our patient/clients’ needs with the appropriate level and type of care required including medical, psychological, or services within the organization or across multiple organizations.  Assists with taking vital signs, complete medication reconciliations, obtain medical histories, and appropriately screen patients using recommended tools. Be able to obtain medical records from other agencies and scan and/or enter patient data into the electronic health record. Process and maintain ROIs. Understands and be able to coordinate patient travel via ANMC, Medicaid, and/or other agencies.  Utilizes the Electronic Health System (Cerner), Vac Trak, and AFCHAN. The RN will play an integral role in developing and building our Medication Assisted Treatment and other Programs in collaboration with the behavioral health and primary care providers.  The RN will serve as the Electronic Health Systems support and advocate. 


Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (Bachelor’s degree). Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse or obtain within a year in the State of Alaska. Current BLS or must be obtained within one year of hire and biannually thereafter.  A minimum of 6 months experience as a Case Manager or related clinical experience. Experience and sensitivity in working with diverse cultures. Must have the ability to operate computers, phone systems, ten-key calculator, copiers, and other commonly used office equipment.  Must have the ability to trouble-shoot the above equipment operations and report problems to immediate supervisor. Must be willing and have the means to travel in large and small aircrafts.  A valid Alaska driver’s license is optional. Willing to attend training, workshops, and meetings periodically to enhance job performance and knowledge.
