Job Summary: The position of Elder Meal Service Cook with the Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association (APIA) will plan and execute the daily operations associated with the APIA Elder Meal Service Program. This will include cooking lunch for the Elders three times a week, facilitating during the meal, and cleanup of the kitchen and dining facilities during and after each meal. Duties will also include record keeping regarding everyday meal operations and Elder’s records. This position will also need to coordinate with APIA’s Anchorage office and regional food suppliers for any shipments made to the meal site in the way of food or equipment. The Elder Meal Service Cook will be responsible for maintaining a food safe environment throughout the duration of meal service operations.
Qualifications: Maintain confidentiality in regard to client, co-workers, and program matters. Abide by the APIA Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual as established by the Board of Directors. Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned or required by supervisor. Maintain a desk top procedure manual for your position, updating as needed. Must demonstrate maturity, dependability, good judgement, sensitivity, and empathy in performance of assigned duties. Must be neat in personal appearance and attire. Must be punctual. Must have the ability to establish and maintain a professional business relationship with co-workers, clients, and outside agencies. Must contribute to a positive work environment. Will demonstrate support and awareness of the Health Department goals, operating principles, core values, and the APIA mission statement (all documents attached). Will comply with federal laws and regulations as required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996. (HIPAA compliance form for signature attached).
