Behavioral Health Clinician
LOCATION: Unalaska, Alaska

WORK HOURS: 7.5/day
DUTIES: Provide culturally responsive integrated substance abuse disorders and mental health assessments, treatment planning, case management, and counseling/therapy to families, couples and individuals of all ages. In addition, lead group therapy and psychoeducation sessions and participate in outreach and prevention efforts. Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Behavioral Health Program in the Oonalaska Wellness Center, based in Unalaska. Attend community meetings and activities with vital community partners (e.g., school, shelter, etc.). Adhered to professional ethics and mandated standards of practice including documentation requirements. Exemplary personal and professional conduct in the remote setting is expected. Hours of work are 7.5 hours per day, 5 days a week, with shared support of afterhours behavioral health crisis response.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, human services or other related field required. At least one year of experience in mental health, psychiatric emergency services and/or substance abuse preferred. Must be licensed or eligible to be licensed in the State of Alaska in applicants’ appropriate field. Knowledge of federal confidentiality regulations and requirements. Willingness and means to travel. Good working knowledge of basic English grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation. No outstanding history of substance abuse related problems. Interest, knowledge and sensitivity to the Native lifestyle and culture. Willing to take training and attend workshops and meetings periodically to enhance job performance and knowledge.
