Behavioral Health Receptionist - Full-time (37.5 hours per week) position in Unalaska/Dutch Habor. This position provides administrative support and receptionist duties to the Oonalaska Wellness Center (OWC) Aleutian Counseling Center staff. This position encompasses routine and specialized office duties working closely with a diverse client base. Need strong secretarial, communication, organizational, and word processing skills. Certified Nurse Assistant - on-call position as needed position in Anchorage. The Unangam Sismisii (Care Taker in Aleut), as a universal worker in the assisted living home, is responsible for creating an environment that enhances opportunities for a good quality of life. The Unangam Sismisii delivers personal services necessary to protect, nurture and sustain the elders living in the assisted living home. The Unangam Sismisii will work closely with the other Unangam Sismisii in the assisted living home, as well as the Management Team. The Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association Board will be the operating board to oversee the total operations of the assisted living facility.
Qualifications - One (1)1 year experience as a care taker. Community Wellness Advocate - Full-time (37.5 hours per week) position in St. Paul Island. Responsible for coordinating alternative activities in collaboration with other APIA Wellness initiatives and with the community and school to include: Elders social gatherings, arts and crafts, and other projects that encourage and support a TOTAL WELLNESS environment. Assist in the development and coordination of various health education presentations in the community and school. Attend community meetings to provide information and receive feedback of services being provided. Assist in facilitating referral services to residents requesting substance abuse/mental health treatment for themselves or for family members. Will coordinate annual Health Fair and other events that promote a healthy lifestyle. Provide home visits to Elders and others to assist in facilitating access to health care services. Head Start Janitor - 10 hrs per week position in Sand Point. Provide routine required maintenance and upkeep to the Head Start building and outdoor area, appliances, furnace, and safety equipment. Maintain center and outdoor areas free of debris, unsafe equipment, unguarded heaters, and dangerous substances. Maintain documentation of for sanitation and fire marshall visits, prepare for sanitation and Fire Marshall inspections, and sanitation checklists. Pick up all materials shipped to Head Start, check invoices, and complete a yearly inventory with all staff. Report to the Lead Teacher daily to ensure a safe and secure environment for the 3-5 year old children in Head Start care.

Head Start Teacher Aide/Cook - On-call (up to 32.5 hours per week) position in St. Paul Island. Perform the duties of the Head Start Teacher Aide, including: assist APIA Head Start Teacher as requested to implement daily lesson plans; preparation and clean-up of activities, special projects, etc.; teach children appropriate health, dental and other lessons as directed by the Lead Teacher; provide opportunities for children to develop self-mastery skills; provide safe environment for children by supervising them at all times, indoors and out; and use of appropriate discipline/guidance techniques, including redirection, acknowledgment of appropriate behavior, and setting reasonable limits. Maintain paperwork and files; conduct home visit/parent/teacher conferences. Prepare meals and snacks 4 days a week, following the child and adult care food program meal pattern requirements. Shop at local grocery store weekly. Plan for nutrition learning experiences for children. Clean and sanitize all kitchen and dining areas, dishes, pots, pans and utensils used in meal service. Teach children how to prepare for breakfast and lunch, wash their hands and set the table. Follow all applicable regulations for safe storage of refrigerated, frozen, and dry food. Keep accurate inventory records. Calculate food consumption and request approval for food purchases and follow APIA policy regarding purchase orders.
Qualifications - At least 19 years of age with a high school diploma/GED; one year of experience working with groups fo children as a child care provider in home/center and/or volunteering in a Head Start program is preferred; physically/mentally able to work with young children and their families; and the willingness to be trained in the field of early childhood development and to engage in appropriate topical reading and individual work. Willing to achieve a Child Development Associate (CDA) preschool teaching credential within 2 years of hire and to be trained in nutrition and food service training sponsored by Head Start. Lead Behavioral Health Clinician - Full-time (37.5 hours per week) position in Anchorage. Mid-Level Provider - Full-time (37.5 hours per week) position in St. Paul Island. Duties include primary care, walk-in urgent care, and emergency services; treatment and management of diabetes a plus. Must have the ability to make independent clinical decisions and work in a team setting in collaboration with referral physicians and onsite Community Health Aide/Practitioners. Mid-Level Provider - Full-time (37.5 hours per week) position in Unalaska/Dutch Habor. Duties include primary care, walk-in urgent care, and emergency services; treatment and management of diabetes a plus. Must have the ability to make independent clinical decisions and work in a team setting in collaboration with referral physicians and onsite Community Health Aide/Practitioners. Sub-regional travel to other APIA clinics based on need or request. Minimum experience 2-3 years in a remote clinical setting to include emergency care services and supervisory experience. Qualifications - Graduate of an accredited ANP or FNP, or PA-C practitioner program. Requires a registration/license to practice in the State of Alaska. Credentialing process to practice required. Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements. Three to five years experience (two years of supervision preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Ability to perform medical examinations using standard medical procedures. Knowledge of patient care charging to include “superbill” coding, patient histories, clinical operations and procedures, primary care principles and practices. Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and patient progress. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Up-to-date CPR and ACLS certifications. Start Teacher Aide/Cook On-call - Full-Time – 32.5 hrs per week position in St. Paul Island. Perform the duties of the Head Start Teacher Aide, including: assist APIA Head Start Teacher as requested to implement daily lesson plans; preparation and clean-up of activities, special projects, etc.; teach children appropriate health, dental, and other lessons as directed by the Lead Teacher; provide opportunities for children to develop self-mastery skills; provide safe environment for children by supervising them at all times, indoors and out; and use of appropriate discipline/guidance techniques, including redirection, acknowledgment of appropriate behavior, and setting reasonable limits. Maintain paperwork and files; conduct home visit/parent/teacher conferences. Prepare meals and snacks, 4 days a week, following the Child and Adult Care Food Program meal pattern requirements. Shop at local grocery store weekly. Plan for nutrition learning experiences for children. Clean and sanitize all kitchen and dining areas, dishes, pots, pans and utensils used in meal service. Teach children how to prepare for breakfast and lunch, wash their hands and set the table. Follow the all applicable regulations for safe storage of refrigerated, frozen, and dry food. Keep accurate inventory records. Calculate food consumption and request approval for food purchases and follow A/PIA policy regarding purchase orders.
Qualifications - At least 19 years of age with a high school diploma/GED; one year of experience working with groups of children as a child care provider in home/center and/or volunteering in a Head Start program is preferred; physically/mentally able to work with young children and their families; and the willingness to be trained in the field of early childhood development and to engage in appropriate topical reading and individual work. Willing to achieve a Child Development Associate (CDA) preschool teaching credential within 2 years of hire and to be trained nutrition and food service training sponsored by Head Start.
Upon date of hire, must provide documentation of current TB test and Hepatitis screening/vaccination status; pre-employment physical examination; criminal history background clearance and be willing to obtain a CPR and First Aid Certification. - DOE & Education.

Tobacco/Cancer Coordinator - Full-time (37.5 hours per week) position in Anchorage. Responsible for developing, planning, coordinating, and supervising tobacco programs and other health promotion and disease prevention activities throughout the region. Will work collaboratively with Community Wellness Advocates throughout the Region. Seek grant opportunities to support Tobacco Program projects. Manage tobacco related budgets, reporting and grant requirements. Work with coalitions to develop appropriate tobacco educational materials for regional sites.
Qualifications - BS/BA degree from an accredited university in a related health field, including health education and/or a health care provider area. Evidence of solid and positive communications skills with patients, interdisciplinary work teams, and the public. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be certified as a Tobacco Treatment Specialist (TTS) or be willing to take the course within the first year of employment. Minimum of 1 year management or program development experience. Willingness and means to travel and have a valid Alaska Drivers License. Willing to take training and attend workshops and meetings periodically to enhance job performance and knowledge. - $20.32-$22.21 per hour DOE + benefits.
